Plans for hope and a future

on March 5, 2013

I know the weather forecast is threatening a return of unpleasant weather later in the week, but today I’m celebrating:

  • blue skies
  • lilac carpets of crocuses hiding beneath shrubs
  • tree skeletons furring up against the bright blue sky
  • willows’ bright yellow weeping branches
  • splashes of snowdrops against new-green on the verges
  • going out without coat or jacket
  • people smiling again
  • the resurgence of hope after a long winter.

T.S.Eliot in his poem East Coker warned against hope – ‘for hope would be hope for the wrong thing’. God, however, reassures us that he has plans for our good, to give us hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

I know Who I’m siding with!

Lovely, cheery post. You’re helping my glass look half full. 🙂
